We opened in 1997 with a simple pub-style menu and a brewery and bakery squeezed into our basement. Now our brewery is on Hope Street, our beers are available throughout the Pioneer Valley and east into the Boston area, and our menu has a variety of appetizers, meals, and desserts that we hope will continue to satisfy and nourish you. Whenever possible, we serve food grown or produced locally and oftentimes, organically. For example, we use Snow’s Premium Ice Cream (made up the street), our burgers are grass-fed beef from Foxbard and Wheelview farms in Shelburne, Mapleline Farm in Hadley brings us our dairy products, the Pierce Brothers here in Greenfield roast our coffee, our tee shirts are printed next door, and the list goes on and on. Many of our dishes are oriented around seasonal vegetables and fruits supplied by over 50 area farmers – apples from Clarkdale and Pine Hill orchards, greens and other vegetables from Paddy Flat Farm in Ashfield, Riverland Farm in Sunderland, Maiewski Farm in Hadley, Red Fire Farm in Granby, and Astarte Farm in Hadley, potatoes, carrots and other root vegetables from farms in Whately, South Deerfield, Sunderland, and Hadley, sprouts from the Gill Greenery, seasonal fruit from Warner Farms and fermented vegetables from Real Pickles. Our fish is delivered by Foster’s Market.

Our pork in grown sustainably in Vermont, and or our special cheeses come from artisans in New England. Our priorities are not only to provide you with house-made sodas, freshly brewed beers, and tasty food, but also to do it with as little waste as possible. You might have noticed that no disposable plastic and a minimum of paper products appear at your table. Also, you may be pleased to know that all kitchen and dining room food scraps plus our brewery spent grains are composted or fed to area pigs, chickens and cows. We offer biodegradable straws (upon request) made of corn starch, have LED-rechargeable candles instead of petroleum based, and many of our staff ride bikes and walk to and from work. All plastic, cardboard, glass and metal is recycled. As a result, even on our busiest night, we have not created more than one barrel of trash. We hope that the knowledge of your participation in this ongoing act of environmental goodwill enhances the time you spend at The People’s Pint.
