Pioneer Valley Bike Commute Week, 2009

Bicycle Commuting: Thousands Do It – Why Not You? The Pioneer Valley’s tenth annual Bike Commute Week will be held May 9-16. This collaborative effort of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, MassBike Pioneer Valley, MassHighway, community volunteers, and business and civic organizations is designed to encourage Pioneer Valley citizens to commute by bicycle to work, to school, and for short trips in their communities.

The People's Pint hosted two events during Bike Commute Week. Friday, May 15 was the FREE lunch at Bicycle World for folks that road their bikes and Saturday, May 16 we hosted our first "Trick Out Your Bike" event in preparation of the downtown parade of bicycles. Check out the photos here >>>
	We were able to offer great food to all the cyclists because of donations from our friends. Thanks, Friends!
Alden Booth and Chris Either have been doing FREE lunch at Bicycle World for years. Quite the team. Thanks, Team!	A gorgeous New England day got around 25 people out for the two hours of free lunch.
DIAL/SELF Youth Services participates and helps out. They take donations of helmuts, bike locks, and bikes. Then give them to area youth needing wheels.	Chris just can't stay away. Dozens of burgers were grilled to perfection and served to lucky recipients.
