Firkin Friday - BeeZerker Braggot Ale

Three way collaboration to be released on Friday @ The People's Pint

Stoneman Brewery, Artisan Beverage Co-op, and The Peoples Pint have brewed the 5th in Stoneman Brewery's Beer Share Series. The three breweries got together to create this 100% locally sourced and locally brewed beer. All the grain was grown and malted by Valley Malt of Hadley, all the hops were grown by Four Star Farms of Northfield, all the honey came from Warm Color Apiary of Deerfield and the water from Colrain.

This Friday we are releasing a Cask at The People's Pint of this collaboration ale at 5 p.m. and we will all be there to talk to people about the importance of brewing with local ingredients and working together to create a community of brewers and businesses. On Saturday we will be releasing the limited amount of 22 oz bottles to River Valley Market at 2 p.m. and Stoneman Brewery will be there until 5 p.m. pouring samples of this one of a kind collaboration beer.

We named the beer BeeZerker Braggot ale. We used 20 lbs of Warm Color Apiary's honey in the one barrel (31 gallons) of beer. It took over 3 months to fully ferment and it is 10% abv. A braggot style ale is a beer brewed with a large amount of honey.

The Beer Share series is a collaborative ale project created by Stoneman Brewery to help promote the use of local ingredients by working together with farmers, brewers and a market place to create these one time, one barrel releases of nearly 100% locally sourced ingredient brews.
